(CIP) with a super-majority of 74 % equity. The main products are: sulfuric acid: technical grade and chemically pure; oleum; and sulfur flakes. The manufacturing plant is located in Bo. Kalawaan, Pasig. LMG-Pasig Operations' Monsanto technology sulfuric acid plant replaced two old plants in December 1994. LMG now operates a state-of-the-art double contact/double absorption sulfuric acid plant. The plant uses a technology that
Additionally, the manufacturing process is more environment-friendly with an SO2 gas emission of only 250 parts per million (ppm), well below the government's maximum limit of 1,250 ppm. The new acid plant reinforces LMG's dominance in the sulfuric acid with the four-fold increase of its production capacity from 24,000 metric tons per year (MTPY) to 90,000 MTPY, the nameplate capacity of the new acid plant.
The Bulk Chemical Terminal Division of LMG is located in Pinamucan, Batangas. It is designed to receive, store, package and deliver liquid and solid chemicals. It expand LMG's strategic storage capacity and trading capabilities. It provides tank farm services to other companies. The tank farm consists of a T-head pier, capable of receiving 40,000 deadweight ton tankers. It also has barge quay, tank lorry station and drumming facility to accommodate deliveries of any quantity. The tank farm contains nine (9) individual tanks, including a 2,500 NT rubber-lined tank and supplemental facilities such as a 10,000 - 15,000 MT capacity warehouse and a conveyor system for dry cargo. The bulk terminal is particularly equipped with the facilities to receive and store and transfer sulfur in molten form to final destination - There are two special tanks -- each designed to store 1,100 MT of molten sulfur at the temperature of 1500 centigrade. The tank farm therefore has the capability of receiving imported molten sulfur directly from an ocean-going vessel. In addition to its manufacturing and the bulk terminal activities, LMG is also active in the trading business. LMG, through its marketing arm, CMC, a 100%-owned subsidiary, CMC has an existing agreement with GFI Far East PTE Ltd. The agreement makes CMC the exclusive agent of GFI Far East in the Philippines in the selling of liquid caustic soda and other industrial chemicals. GFI Far East is an affiliate of GFI, Inc., one of the leading chemical distributors in the United States. |
